Overview

Embark on a week-long cycling adventure along Italy’s historic Adige River path. This tour offers gentle rides through the Dolomites’ foothills, lush apple orchards, and picturesque South Tyrolean towns. Start in Bolzano, a vibrant, bilingual city at the crossroads of Italian and Central European cultures. Your journey takes you past the iconic submerged bell tower of Curon at Lake Resia, through charming towns like Glorenza and Merano, and along Europe’s largest apple plantations.

Admire castles, vineyards, and historic landmarks before reaching Trento and the northern tip of Lake Garda. Ideal for families and less experienced cyclists, the route follows paved paths and low-traffic roads, offering mostly flat terrain with occasional short climbs. Each day combines scenic cycling, cultural highlights, and opportunities to relax, swim, or enjoy local cuisine.

Your adventure begins in the charming city of Bolzano, nestled in the South Tyrol region and framed by the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites. Known for its unique blend of Italian and Austrian influences, Bolzano is a city where languages, cultures, and cuisines meet. The colourful facades of its old town, cobblestone streets, and traditional Tyrolean-style houses make it an inviting place to explore on foot.

Take some time to wander through Piazza Walther, the lively heart of the city, or visit the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, home to the famous ice mummy, Ötzi. Reviews

This was my first cycling trip away with mates so I needed a bit of help on what was necessary. I was so pleased with how helpful Pedal Ventures were with making sure I had the best deal and best cycle routes in the areas where we stayed. 10/10
