The journey begins in the storybook town of Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and leads you through a series of cultural treasures: the beer capital of Ceske Budejovice, the romantic Hluboka Chateau, the historic bridges of Pisek, and the mining town of Pribram. You’ll pedal through quiet backroads and former military roads in the Brdy Hills, visit Gothic ruins, and overnight near the iconic Karlstejn Castle before rolling into Prague on a scenic riverside path.

Start your tour with a morning pick-up from Prague (hotel or airport) and transfer to Cesky Krumlov. After a welcome briefing and test ride, enjoy free time to explore this fairy-tale medieval town with its impressive castle, winding lanes, and riverside cafés.
Begin with a visit to the majestic Cesky Krumlov Castle, then cycle along the scenic Vltava River valley. Stop at Zlata Koruna Monastery before reaching Ceske Budejovice, home of Budweiser beer. Finish the day in Hluboka nad Vltavou, known for its striking neo-Gothic chateau and tranquil parkland.
Ride a peaceful riverside trail toward Pisek, passing Orlik Castle and a glimpse of the Temelín Nuclear Plant. In Pisek, admire the oldest stone bridge in the Czech Republic, dating to the 13th century, and stroll the charming town center.
Cycle through rolling countryside, passing scenic villages and major sites like Zvíkov Castle, perched above the confluence of the Vltava and Otava rivers. Getting to Prague (start and end of tour)
By plane: Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) has direct flights from most UK airports, with British Airways from London Heathrow, Ryanair from Stansted, Wizz Air from Gatwick and Luton, and easyJet from Gatwick. Flight time is around 2 hours. The airport is 17km from the city centre, with an express bus service to the metro network.
By train: Prague is well connected by overnight Nightjet trains to Vienna and other Central European destinations. Český Krumlov, where this tour begins, is around 3 hours from Prague by direct bus (RegioJet operates several daily services).
By car: Prague is around 1,200km from Calais, taking approximately 11 hours. Czech motorways are in excellent condition and Prague Airport has car hire from all major companies.
