Highlights
Description
Champagne is a region proud of its history and firmly turned towards the future. Your tour begins in Reims, home to the UNESCO-listed Reims Cathedral, before heading out into the vineyards that gave the world its most celebrated sparkling wine.
Push open the door of a small grower or a famous champagne house and see the cellars where it all happens, thousands of bottles deep. Quiet roads, rolling vineyards, and the occasional very good reason to stop for a glass.

Getting to Reims
By plane: Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) is the nearest major airport. Direct TGVs run from the airport station (Aéroport CDG 2 TGV) to Champagne-Ardenne TGV station, on the edge of Reims, in around 30 minutes; a short tram ride then takes you into the city centre. From Paris Orly, travel into Paris and take the train from Gare de l'Est.
By train: Direct TGVs from Paris Gare de l'Est reach Reims central station in around 45 minutes, several times a day. The station is a short walk from the town centre and the cathedral.
By car: Reims is around 1.5 hours from Paris via the A4 motorway and sits at the junction of the A4 and A26, so it's easy to reach from several directions. The hotels don't have private car parks, but paid parking is available in the city centre.
Getting home from Reims
This is a round trip finishing back in Reims, so the return uses the same connections in reverse: direct trains to Paris Gare de l'Est in around 45 minutes, or TGVs from Champagne-Ardenne TGV station to Paris Charles de Gaulle in around 30 minutes. Timetables change seasonally, so check connections when you book.
